Weather can't dampen spirits of 2014 bicycle tour riders


What a ride: More than 360 riders participated in the Mount Adams Bicycle Tour held last weekend in the Trout Lake area. The family ride included several riders with add-on tandem bike "trailers."

The 2014 Mt Adams Bicycle Tour was another great success with 366 riders safely cycling the beautiful forest and valley routes. A light morning rain and clouds wreathing Mt Adams for much of the day didn't dampen the spirits. On the valley routes the sun broke through for good about 9 a.m., and a warm campfire and hot blue grass music by Lincoln Crockett, Jeff & Erin Nelson and Linda Robertson mitigated the cold showers and fog on the Forest Loop.

The Family Ride hit a new high of 63 riders with several add-on tandem bike "trailers" and even a rare triple tandem keeping families together. It was great to see so many kids mixing with the other riders and having a great time. There were...
