Glenwood community provides funds, labor to improve Grange 94



Facelift: The Glenwood Grange recently received much-needed repairs and improvements through the efforts of the Glenwood community and friends. The Glenwood Grange hall hosts many local gatherings, including public meetings, card parties, and bridal and baby showers.

Glenwood Homemakers is offering a continuing education scholarship for local college students who are returning to college this fall. Applications can be obtained from Chris Miller, call her at 364-3427. Applications will need to be returned to Chris by Aug. 31.

Doug Daniels reported precipitation figures for last month in Glenwood. During July our area received above-average precipitation at 1.09 inches – all of which fell in only two days! The 19-year-average for July is .31 inches. The wettest July was in 2000 with 1.3 inches; while four years tie for the driest with no measureable precipitation: 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
