What's best for hydration? Try the real elixir of life: water

For your health


This time of year, when temperatures are scorching and I look out at the brown hills of the Gorge, I’m reminded of one essential element of good health: Water. Drinking more water is incredibly simple, free and can significantly improve how you feel on a day to day basis.

Water makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. It is in every cell, tissue and organ and all of your bodily functions depend on it. Water carries nutrients to your cells for absorption, lubricates and cushions your joints, flushes toxins out of your body through sweat, urination and bowel movements, aids in digestion and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissue.
