Chalmer Bowlin


Chalmer Herbert Bowlin passed away at his home in Goldendale, Washington on August 17, 2014 at the age of 79. He was born on October 29, 1934 in Vanzant, Missouri to Rhoda Mae (Tooley) and Fines Cleveland Bowlin.

He married Dorothy Ann McKeegan in Elko, Nevada on November 9, 1956. Mr. Bowlin worked as a machinist for Boeing and was a member of the NRA and the LDS Church. Chalmer enjoyed reading, shooting and tinkering with cars. He loved joking around with kids and was very active in Boy Scouts. He was a dog lover and gentleman farmer. Chalmer never met a stranger.

Mr. Bowlin is survived by his wife Dorothy of Goldendale; children and their spouses Sheldon and Karen Bowlin and Bette Jean and Don Giboney of Edgewood, WA, Carl Bowlin of Kent, WA, Doug Bowlin of Goldendale, Cindy Bowlin of Des Moines, WA, and his brother Paul Gerald and Susan Bowlin of Kuna, ID; aunt Doris Tidwell of Milwaukie, OR; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

A funeral service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Goldendale on Thursday, August 21 with burial on Saturday, August 23 in Rupert, Idaho. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
