50 Years Ago - September 3, 1964

• The Simcoe Manor Nursing Home will be open for acceptance of patients on Sept. 8, and 30 elderly citizens are expected to register. A staff of registered nurses and nurse’s aides have been secured to care for the occupants. The nursing staff will be under the supervision of Mrs. Lois Howe. The nursing home will make the largest single contribution to the economy of the Goldendale area of any development in recent history. When fully staffed, it will employ upwards of 50 local people and provide an annual payroll of some $120,000.
