Wolves grind out win in White Salmon with punishing ground game

CLEARING THE WAY: Goldendale linemen Joseph Gast (71) and Riker Telford (65) lead the way for Tyrell Read as Goldendale churned out nearly 200 yards rushing against the Bruins.

Conditioning seemed to win out last Friday as the Goldendale Timberwolves used a crushing ground game to defeat the Columbia-White Salmon Bruins 22-19 on the Bruins' home turf.

The first score of the game came in the second quarter with Eduardo Oriz kicking a 22 yard field goal for White Salmon. It could have been worse, as the Bruins were just getting their offense rolling after both teams struggled in the opening quarter. On the second play of the second quarter, Logan Boardman punted to the Bruins' 31 yard line with no return.
