Vocal crowd welcomes back football as Cougars pound out 64-22 win

Gabe Montoya accounted for 390 total yards of offense and seven touchdowns in Lyle-Wishram's blowout home opener 64-22 over Twin Valley (Wishkah Valley/Lake Quinault). The senior from Wishram carried the ball just three times in the third quarter, scoring all three times as the Cougars overcame a two-point half-time deficit.

The last time Lyle-Wishram won a home football game was Sept. 28, 2011 and the opponent was Wishkah Valley, when they were separated from Lake Quinault. In fact, the week before was a road win over Lake Quinault.  The Cougars finished the 2011 with a 6-4 record and they lost their final two home games, both in overtime.
