Boardman kick return helps Wolves avoid overtime against Vashon Island

Saturday had kind of a playoff atmosphere as the Timberwolves came away with a 22-14 win over Vashon Island in a day game at Naches. The unusual event was caused by the cancellation of Highland's varsity football season, leaving athletic directors scrambling to fill the void.

Goldendale Coach, Chris Hill thought it was pretty nice to get a taste of daytime football, pointing out that quarter-final games are generally daytime affairs. With an unknown opponent like Vashon Island, the game had that kind of vibe. And, thanks in part to a late game kick return by Logan Boardman, it was a good win for the Wolves.

The Pirates would prove to be a very tough opponent, in spite of their 0-3 record....
