Early miscues help Mabton win otherwise close match

A pair of free goals during the first half of last week's soccer match gave the Lady Timberwolves a deficit they couldn't overcome as they fell to Mabton 4-2. An errant pass found its way into Goldendale's goal just four minutes into the match. For most of the remainder of the first half, the teams took turns applying the pressure with no success. Mabton's second goal came off an end kick that was intercepted in front of an open goal allowing the Vikings to take a 2-0 lead at the 14:30 mark.

Cheyenne Smith answered with a long goal at the 26 minute mark to make it close at the half.
