Friends of the Goldendale Library to hold fall book sale on Nov. 15

The Friends of the Goldendale Library will be holding a one-day book sale on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Used books of all sorts will be on sale, from gardening to crafts, mysteries, children’s books, and much, more. Most paperbacks are priced at 25 or 50 cents, and most hardbacks at $1.00.

A special members-only pre-sale will take place on Friday the 14th, from 5 p.m. to 7p.m.  Memberships are available at the door for just $5 for individuals, $10 for families.  Anyone can become a Friends member.

Due to overwhelming community support and contributions, the Friends of the Library now hold three book sales each year, spring, summer and fall. The largest of these, a two-day book, sale is held every year during Goldendale Community Days.  Other sales are usually in November and March.

“This is a great opportunity to shop for gift books for the holidays, or to restock your shelves for winter reading,” says head Librarian Naomi Fisher.

The Friends of the Library accept donations of books, videos and jigsaw puzzles for their book sales year-round. Donations can be dropped off at the Goldendale Library any time between now and Nov. 8, then again after Nov. 18. The Friends and library cannot accept, however, encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks or non-book items like games or notebooks. Proceeds from the book sale directly benefit the Library through the underwriting of public programs, the purchase of books, equipment, furniture and more.

Volunteers are also still needed to help with the book sale clean up on Monday, Nov. 17. Anyone interested in volunteering or getting more information about the book sale or the Friends of the Library and call Fisher at 773-4487.

The Goldendale Library is located at 131 W Burgen in Goldendale and is open six days a week, Mondays through Saturdays.
