Skamania County declares emergency


Skamania County has declared a state of emergency and appealed for help to the state and federal governments.

In a resolution dated Oct. 7, the Skamania County Board of Commissioners said the move was due to “unhealthy National Forest conditions; yearly threat of catastrophic fires; and minimal county government, schools, and emergency services.”
