Pot roast meeting at city hall

CON AND PRO: Attorney and Murdoch pot shop owner Liz Hallock tells the Goldendale city council she would "bleed the city dry of money in court" if it does not allow a marijuana retail store to open.

Empty seats were nowhere to be found at Monday night's public hearing regarding I-502, the city's current moratorium against it, and the proposed opening of a marijuana retail outlet within city limits.

Set to be a portion of the evening's regularly scheduled council meeting, the hearing eclipsed most other business on the agenda as citizen after citizen took to the podium to speak their mind. A broad spectrum of opinions and emotions poured forth from those who sought to make their voices heard on the matter, and elected members of the city's governing body were no exception.
