Gannon over Rising in round five cross country


The time and conditions were ideal for runners to turn in their top performances of the year at the cross country meet north of Benton City, Thursday. Thirty-six of the 39 runners had season best times on the 3-mile course at Horne Rapids County Park.

Right up near the top were runners from Goldendale and Bickleton as the Pirates’ Andrew Gannon won round five in what has become an entertaining battle among runners from the two schools who are not normally rivals due to their different divisions.
