Goldendale schools in precautionary lock down following threats


Early last week Goldendale schools went into a modified lockdown following a report of a man who appeared to be suicidal and indicated he wanted to “take out as many kids” as he could in the process. The man was reported to have made the comments while in businesses on Main St. Police notified the school and began to search for the man whom they found at the Union 76 station. Officers determined the man, believed to be in his 50’s and residing outside of Goldendale, had mental issues. He was transported to KVH for evaluation. He had no weapons or means to start a fire on his person.
