50 Years Ago - November 5, 1964

• In the recent fire on the Claude Knight ranch on property rented from Cora Richardson, a two day old registered calf was destroyed by fire according to the sheriff’s office, it was thought that the fire was caused by careless hunters.

Last week, Claude Knight had a pure bred Angus calf born in the west stubble field on the same property, and a bird hunter shot and mutilated the calf so badly that it had to be destroyed by the veterinarian.
