Cougars ride banner year in hunt for State berth

Lyle-Wishram wrapped up a tie for second place in the Greater Columbia River Gorge league with wins over Trout Lake 3-1 and Yakama Nation 3-0, last week. The Cougars and Klickitat each finish the regular season with 7-3 records and each team defeated the other in road wins. The Cougars will be second seeded in the District tournament by virtue of number draw.

Trout Lake played the Cougars tough in Trout Lake, winning the opener 25-19. Coach Julie Fink credited Beyyine Ozkan for being perfect on serves and setting McKinzie Wurtz and Elle Van Laar, who led the Mustang attack with seven kills each.
