Election fallout leaves questions about recount


The results of Klickitat County’s elections won’t be officially confirmed for about another two weeks, though there appears to be clarity on who won. The closest race was for County Sheriff, with only 166 votes separating leader Bob Songer from Marc Boardman by Monday, when the Auditor’s web site indicated all votes had been counted. That margin has led some to wonder when and how an automatic recount occurs. The state has issued a frequently asked questions list citing RCW 29A.64.021 that answers that and other questions.
