Smithsonian exhibit at Discovery Center


Columbia Gorge Discovery Center will host the opening of the Smithsonian traveling exhibit “Bittersweet Harvest: The Bracero Program 1942-1964,” Dec. 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., The bilingual exhibit opening is free to the public two days, on Friday, Dec. 5 from 5:30 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Bracero Program was an agreement between Mexico and the United States that allowed Mexican workers to fill the labor void left when Americans entered World War II.
