Robert Edward Lieurance

Robert Edward Lieurance was born in Browning, Montana Oct 7, 1928 to Maxwell T Lieurance Sr. and Adeline E (Swain) Lieurance. He grew up in Pocatello, Idaho where he graduated from Pocatello High School and attended Idaho State University. He graduated from the University of Idaho in Moscow with a BA in Forestry. From there he went to Glenwood and Goldendale, WA, where he worked with the WA state Forestry Dept. It was here he met his future wife Jerrine Sellers. In 1953 they married; then four months later Robert was drafted into the Army. He served in Panama in the military police, during the Korean conflict. From Panama, he returned to the University of Idaho and where he graduated with a Masters degree in Land Management.

Following graduation he began his career as a Forester with the Bureau of Land Management in Roseburg, Oregon. In 1962 he transferred to Coos Bay, Oregon with his growing family. Later on they moved to Miles City, Montana, then on to Vale, Oregon where he retired after a 45 year career with the government. After traveling for a brief period of time in the South West, he and Jerrine relocated to Goldendale, Wash.

Robert took an active interest in the lives of those he loved, namely his wife and children. His favorite past times included camping, fishing, crabbing, beach combing, gardening, community politics, singing with the praise team at his church, and puttering in his workshop.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Max Lieurance II of Ontario, Oregon, and his sister Elizabeth Gates of Pocatello, Idaho.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jerrine (Jeri); children Teresa Lieurance-Clyne of Goldendale; Ted and Tanya (Terechine) Lieurance of Boardman, Ore., Tom and Janet (Stoddard) Lieurance of Goldendale, Jon Lieurance of Goldendale, and Patrick and Sheri (Staples) Lieurance of Marysville, Wash .; grandchildren: Tara Clyne-Rhodes of Sturgis, S.D., Olin Clyne of Rapid City, S.D., Bethany Clyne of Whitewood, S.D., Marc Clyne of Lead, S.D., Megan Lieurance of Pomeroy, Wash., Tate Lieurance of Ft Hood, Texas, Jacob Lieurance of Everett, Wash., Summer Frisby of Marysville, Wash .; and two great-grandchildren Kaiden and Alice May Gossman, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m., at the Goldendale Church of the Nazarene.
