To the Editor:

This is an adaptation of Amy Peters’ story “The Walnut and the Bell Tower.”

There once was a magnificent bell tower with beautiful chiming bells. A crow dropped a walnut when the crow was trying to crack the walnut open, and the walnut fell into a crevice of that magnificent bell tower. The walnut said to the bell tower “Please let me stay here or the crow will eat me.” The bell tower, being kindhearted, agreed, and the crow went to find something else to eat. Fifty years later there stands a huge walnut tree and a pile of rubble that used to be the bell tower.

Will you please just say no to marijuana businesses in Goldendale and Klickitat County? We do not want...
