The privilege of freedom

To the Editor:

I have been reminiscing on the past year, the elections, and the ongoing debate and the angers over the pot shop, the mayor, and the city government, the oppositions that were heated events at times. So I offer my thoughts, not to say anyone is wrong or right, just thoughts.

We all have a right to question or oppose decisions made by governments or authority but, in peaceful assembly, we don’t have the right to use it to rip and tear at the fabric of our government and community, creating division, ill will, and negative feelings. We have the right to picket or voice our dissent, but we do not have the right to take away another’s right to live under the same rights.
