City council meeting returns to calm

ARGUING FOR PEACE: Michelle Hurst and her daugher Ava spoke Monday night at the Goldendale city council meeting to urge the body to come to peace with the mayor.

After the fiery confrontations of recent Goldendale city council meetings, Monday night's was almost strangely subdued. It was highly productive, as the council ran through a number of resolutions involving city projects and renewal of business licenses.

Resolutions were passed to allow a Reasonable Use Exception for the West Allyn stormwater outfall relocation project; accepting a recommendation for a shoreline permit to the shoreline master plan for the Little Klickitat River sewer collection system; reclassification of two city job positions; adoption of the third quarter budget amendment for 2014; adoption of the 2015 budget; and approved the hiring of Gwendolyn Grundei as new city p...
