McCabe gets toes in the legislature waters

Newly elected State Rep. Gina McCabe has been chatting with the governor. Twice now.

Gov. Jay Inslee first called McCabe the night of the general election, when the Goldendale resident won her seat by one of the largest margins of any election in the state.

"That's why he called right after the election and congratulated me," McCabe recalls. "And he asked for a meeting."

The governor's meeting with the freshman representative came at the end of her week-long orientation in Olympia, designed to allow incoming legislators to hit the ground running.
