Pirates defeat Eagles 64-42 in league opener and return of varsity basketball to Glenwood


Bickleton and Glenwood took to the floor on Friday night in the opening game of Greater Columbia Gorge league play. The visitors from Bickleton used a dominating inside game to win 64-42. The Pirates were 6-16 from the floor in the opening quarter with Nathan Powers putting in Bickleton's only three-point shot of the night as Madi and Bailee Couch each scored from the field for Glenwood who trailed 14-7. It was all Pirates in the second quarter to break the game open. Kyle Underwood scored 10 of his team high 16 points in the quarter and the team out-rebounded the Eagles 14-7 for a 29-10 lead.
