Car hits boulder on SR 14 near Roosevelt

THEY WALKED AWAY: In one of three vehicle accidents around the county in recent days, this car kept going straight when it needed to curve on SR 97 southbound Monday. There were no skid marks. The two occupants were able to extricate themselves safely.

A Roosevelt family suffered injuries when their vehicle collided with a boulder that rolled onto SR14, 2.5 miles east of Roosevelt. The accident occurred around 11:32 p.m. on Dec. 20. Juana Camacho, 33, of Roosevelt was the driver of a 2003 Ford Expedition. The vehicle was westbound when it struck a boulder in the road and crossed the eastbound lanes, ending up in the ditch.

Camacho was injured and transported to KVH. Other passengers injured and transported to KVH were Juancarlos Camacho, 40, Juandauve Camacho, 8, and Vanessa Camacho, 6. Not injured was Juanita Camacho, 10. All of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
