William McEwen


Bill passed away January 8, 2015 after a long battle with congestive heart failure and diabetes. He was in the company of his sister Shannon, Bill Kinzer and Austin Jennings in Kooskia, ID.

Bill was born April 2, 1938 in Goldendale WA to Pat and Ione (Anderson) McEwen. He was the third of six siblings. He attended school in Klickitat and Goldendale.

Bill was a talented young fella, he entertained his fellow students at school assemblies by getting up on stage and playing his trumpet or talking like Donald Duck. Bill had many talents. He enjoyed farming, fishing, raising great gardens of flowers, camping and cooking outdoors. Bill met no strangers camping, he knew everyone in the camp before bedtime. He had lots of friends. He was a farmhand, railroad worker, logger and all around handy man.

Bill is survived by his significant other Dorthey Alldrege of Kettle Falls, wife Carion McEwen of Colville. brothers John (Audrey) McEwen, Russ (Chris) McEwen, Greg (Corinne) McEwen, all of Goldendale and sisters Dalia (Harold) Wolverton of Anchorage, Alaska, and Shannon Hibbard (Bill Kinzer) of Kamiah, ID. He had seven children, Craig McEwen, Kent McEwen, Bill Jr. (Cheryl) McEwen, Tanya McEwen, Connie (Vern) McEwen, Shara (Mike) Hooper, Shawna (Aaron) Thompson and one stepson, Mark and wife Angie; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was cremated and the family will spread his ashes on his great grandparents homestead near Orient, Wash.

We miss you Bill knowing you are in good company with mom, dad and Frosty too.
