Lady Wolves beat Warriors, need a win over top four down the stretch


Goldendale’s Lady Timberwolves kept their playoff hopes alive with a thrilling 50-48 win over Cle Elum-Roslyn, last week as teams enter the second half of league play. A non-league game at Mabton on Tuesday followed a pair of losses by wide margin to league-leading Granger 58-33 and a non-league game against Connell 60-28.

The Cle Elum-Roslyn game was played evenly on the Timberwolf floor. Goldendale’s two-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter evaporated into a two point deficit with two minutes remaining. Cheyenne Smith hit both ends of a one-and-one for the tie and Kirsten Twohy and Zara Kartes pushed the lead to 48-46, each with a free throw drawing net. The Warriors tied...
