Wins by Trout Lake and Lyle-Wishram separate top four in Gorge League boys

HARD TO STOP: Klickitat's Mason Knowland was a handful for Lyle-Wishram. The Cougars had just enough success keeping the ball out of Knowland's hands to avoid a loss at Lyle, last week. Knowland finished with 22 points.

Greater Columbian Gorge League teams are just getting started with league play, but already the top four teams put a couple of games between them and the pack. Sunnyside Christian is on top at 5-0, as of Monday with Yakama Nation 4-1, Trout Lake 2-1 and Lyle-Wishram 3-2. Bickleton is 1-4 and Klickitat and Glenwood were winless.

Lyle-Wishram struggled for a pair of wins last week as Klickitat and Bickleton gave the Cougars all they could handle. Lyle-Wishram's wins of 53-51 over the Vandals and 65-61 over the Pirates kept the Cougars in the top four of Greater Columbia Gorge standings.
