50 Years Ago - January 28, 1965

• The industrial scene in Goldendale is being strengthened by construction of the new sawmill by Layman Lumber Co., began with footings poured just before the cold weather in early December, the building will be ready for operation by mid-spring. The mill, 42x168 feet in overall dimensions, is being constructed by a company crew directed by Goldendale Superintendent Pete Brundridge. Pete has a long history of sawmill construction, maintenance and operation, which includes the Layman mill at Naches.

75 Years Ago - January 25, 1940

• Following an accepted trend in education technique, the Goldendale school system this month installed a 16 millimeter...
