County changes courthouse lights

Klickitat County recently took action to correct the poorly shielded lights installed at the county courthouse late last year. The lights are intended to provide nighttime security while meeting requirements for historical preservation, but initially they failed to protect the historically dark-skies of the Goldendale Observatory-one of only twenty International Dark-Sky Parks in the world-from the damaging effects of light pollution.
