50 Years Ago - February 4, 1965

Police Chief Don Kemp and Bill Geary, city policeman, spent Tuesday in Yakima attending a school “Mob and Riot Control.” The school was sponsored by the State Sheriffs and Chief of Police Association.

75 Years Ago - February 1, 1940

The person in question, his identity unknown, drenched a stray cat in gasoline and then lit a match to its hair. The crazed animal, its fur in flames, raced across West Court street Wednesday night and ran under a woodpile in the backyard of the Dr. M. R. Davies residence. Dr. Davies, E. L.
