Randy Ackerman

December 26, 2014, Randall (Randy) Ackerman peacefully passed to be with Our Lord.

He was the third child born to Bob and Arletta Ackerman, on June 22, 1959, in Portland, Ore.

In June of 1977, he completed his 12th year of high school at McNary High School and one year of college in Salem, Ore., graduating with a degree in culinary arts. In 1980, he moved to Belmont, California, to be near his sister, Cindy Neal. He was married and owned his own print shop in San Jose, Calif. Later Randy owned and operated his own trucking company, Ackerman Trucking. He moved to Wapato, Washington, where he worked at Superior Oil in Yakima, Wash. He and his family moved back to California and he went to work for Kents Oil in Stockton, Calif. Once he retired, he went into business with Shirley Moore at The Fireside Inn, in Lathrop, Calif.

He is survived by his companion, Shirley Moore, of Manteca, Calif .; three children, Tyler, Codi and Kinsey Ackerman, of Manteca, Calif .; his mother, Arletta Parton, of Goldendale, Wash .; his brother, Michael Ackerman, of Goldendale; sister, Cindy Neal, of Santa Rosa, Calif .; uncle, Derald Ortloff, of Toppenish, Wash; aunt Jeannie Bailey of Darlington, Wisc .; cousins and several nieces and nephews in California, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada.

Randy battled fibromyalgia, lupus, COPD, and had a weakened heart that all led to his untimely death.

Two celebrations of life were held for Randy, one at the Manteca Golf Course and one at his bar, the Fireside Inn.
