Lady Wolves on track for a strong finish

THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE: Goldendale's girls basketball player were all smiles after playing their best game of the year in defeating Naches Valley 41-40. The game after the Goldendale Lady Timberwolves hit rock bottom at Highland, wouldn't seem like a time to heal, considering they were on the road against Zillah. But, somewhere between that Jan. 24 game at Highland and last Friday's game at home against Naches Valley, something clicked for the Lady Wolves.

The score didn't look great at Zillah, a Leopard 61-24 win, but it was a different team that battled Naches Valley for a 41-40 win. And for much of Saturday's game at Cle Elum, that same team hung on until they lost their front line to fouls and lost the game 50-46 to the Warriors.

None of the Wolves got close to scoring in double digits at Zillah, but nine players put points on the boa...
