50 Years Ago - February 11, 1965

Boy Scouts and Explorers along with their younger brothers, the Cub Scouts, will celebrate the nationwide observance, marking the 55th anniversary of the largest youth movement in the free world. For 55 years the Scout movement has been a major influence in training American youth character values, citizenship skills, attitudes and physical fitness.

75 Years Ago - February 8, 1940

Jack Dressel last week had his hair singed and his forehead badly burned when an oil heater he was lighting exploded in his face. The explosion occurred in the rear of the Simcoe Inn. The flames shot back in Dressel’s face as he dropped a lighted match in the firebox. T...
