Local food interests want to house Food Resource Center in Goldendale


Forty people representing 21 local food interest groups gathered at the Goldendale Library, Jan. 25, to share ideas about how to expand and strengthen the local food system. A consensus was reached on the idea of creating a Food Resource Center.

Another meeting will be held this Friday at 7 p.m. in the Goldendale Library to further discuss the proposed Food Resource Center. The group had envisioned the center to be a facility with refrigeration and a warehouse for short and long-term food storage, office and operations space for food-related charities and groups, classroom space, a commercial kitchen, and a large room for food service and events.
