Teen dating violence: the quiet crime


On behalf of Programs for Peaceful Living, Teresa Clyne is informing Klickitat County that February is the month to be aware of a surprisingly prevalent and strangely little-known problem: teen dating violence.

“February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month,” says Clyne. “You want to think that in a small community like this, that domestic violence among teens wouldn’t be such a prominent issue, but it is—it is everywhere.” Programs for Peaceful Living (a part of the Washington State Coalition for Domestic Violence) is encouraging teens and parents to educate themselves on the signs of teen dating violence and how to handle these kinds of problems.
