Brian Johnson

Brian Louis Johnson, 63, passed away December 30, 2014, in Astoria, Oregon from cancer.

He was born July 11, 1951, and spent his early years in Clatskanie, Oregon. His family then moved to Woodland, Washington, where he graduated from high school in 1970. After graduation, Brian attended Clark College and earned an Associates' Degree in Police Science, becoming an Oregon State Trooper in 1973. He then made his home in the Astoria area where he started his career; by this time he was already married and had two sons.

Brian enjoyed being a father; he would take his sons to work, hunting and fishing. He left the State Police in 1980 and went into logging full time, he logged for the next few decades. Brian was a man of adventure, with many hobbies, lots of friends and a ton of stories. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, traveling, hunting, fishing and social events.

Brian was preceded in death by his father Louis F. Johnson.

He is survived by: his sons, Jacob Johnson and Jason Johnson; his mother, Clella Johnson; his sister, Lorrie Johnson and brother, Dwight Johnson.

Memorial services will be held Feb. 15, at 2 p.m., at the Woodland Grange Hall, 404 Davidson Ave. Woodland, WA.
