Granger buries Lady Wolves in shots in Goldendale season finale

TOUGH DEFENSE: Goldendale's Sierra Lamping looks for somewhere to pass the ball in the face of Granger's aggressive defense.

Goldendale girls were unable to make Granger pay for a slow start in last Friday's final game of the year and the Lady Spartans settled into a combination of speed and long range shooting to win 62-21.

The Spartans looked a little flat in the opening minutes, seeming to search for their offensive rhythm. But that had no effect on their defense which forced Goldendale into eight first quarter turnovers. A three-point shot by Zara Kartes was the only ball to go in the hoop for the Lady Timberwolves in the first quarter while Granger threw up more shots from beyond the three-point arc than the Wolves put up total.
