Juanita Spainhower

Juanita Leone Spainhower passed away at her home north of Goldendale on February 8, 2015 at the age of 86.

She was born in a ranch house near Manteca, California on June 22, 1928 to Frank and Leona (Kalebaugh) Weber. Juanita married Max D. Spainhower in 1952. She worked for George Amey Co. as a bill collector in California during the late 1970s and later moved to Goldendale after residing in Walla Walla, Washington, and The Dalles, Oregon. Mrs. Spainhower was an avid reader of anything academic and was particularly fond of 19th Century western history.

She is survived by her son James Spainhower of Goldendale; one grandchild, Desiree, and one great-grandchild, Gabriel. She was preceded in death by both parents, her son John in 1965, brother John Dafnes in 1977, husband Max in 1999, and son Gary in 2013.

A graveside service will be held at noon on February 23 at Mountain View Cemetery in Goldendale. There will be a visitation at Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel on Sunday, February 22, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please sign the online guestbook for Juanita at
