Four wrestlers advance to State

ONE DOWN: Bryce Wilkins, left, takes down Adrian Trinidad, of Royal in his opening match at Regionals, Saturday. Wilkins won the match and was the highest finisher for Goldendale, taking second place at 170 pounds. He will make his first appearance at Mat Classic, Friday.

Bryce Wilkins is headed to Mat Classic. Last year, the Goldendale junior qualified for Regionals but was injured during practice. This year Wilkins has nursed some injuries, but he sailed through Districts and Regionals to finish as the highest placed Timberwolf, second at 170 pounds. Wilkins benefited from another wrestler's misfortune when Tanner Brown, of River View had to withdraw due to injury. Wilkins defeated Adrian Trinidad, of Royal in his opening match and fell to Darrin Miller, of Royal in the finals.

Wilkins will be joined by three other Timberwolves who qualified for State, Zane Cully, Ruben Finn and Cameron Read. Finishing fifth in the alternate positions to State are Jesse...
