Turkey dinner to benefit Cambodia vision trip at GMS

Playing doctor: Soon-to-be Dr. Matt Hoogland, a second-year optometric student at Pacific University and accomplished pianist is the featured entertainment for this year's benefit event, set for March 7 at Goldendale Middle School

On Saturday, March 7, Dr. Jim Ogden and the 2015 optometric mission team will present an evening of good food and good entertainment.  A roast turkey dinner with the trimmings will be served at 6 p.m., at the Goldendale Middle School. 

During the meal, a five piece orchestra will play musical selections from the 1920s to the 1980s. The featured floor show entertainment this year will be accomplished pianist, Dr. (to be) Matt Hoogland, a second year students at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR.  Dr. Ogden met Matt on a March 2014 vision project in El Salvador.

There is no admission charge for this event, but a free will offering will be taken to benefit the 2015 mission trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, scheduled for March 25 to April 10.  Since all costs of the meal and entertainment have been donated, all money collected will go 100 percent to the in country expenses of the mission project.  Each team member pays his own airfare.  This year's team will be:  Nic Foss, Cody Warren, Larci Miller, Betty Zesiger, Emmy Playfair, and Dr. Ogden.
