Honor society holds spelling bee, winners announced

The Glenwood Honor Society sponsored the annual spelling bee on Feb. 24 in the school’s multipurpose room. Top spellers that evening for first through eighth grades include: First grade – Paityn Henderson; Second grade – Jayla Avila; Third grade – Isabella Bensel; Fourth grade – Willa McLaughlin; Fifth grade – no contestants; Sixth grade – Liam McLaughlin; Seventh grade – Andrew McFall; and Eighth grade – Kinley Troh. Miss Heidi Wilson served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening; and Baylee Couch was the actual spelling “bee” who kept the crowd entertained with “bee-themed” jokes and trivia. The Honor Society served refreshments following the event. Thank you to Honor Society Advisor Bridget McLaughlin and members who worked hard organizing this wonderful event!
