Lee Gilliam

Clarence Lee Gilliam, known as Lee, passed away on February 21, 2015 at the Oregon Veterans' Home in The Dalles, Oregon. He was 84 years old.

Lee was born on August 26, 1930 in Antlers, Oklahoma to Lily Marie (Fennel) and Charlie Gilliam. He joined the United States Army on June 5, 1951 and served during the Korean War. Mr. Gilliam earned the rank of Corporal and received an honorable discharge from his military service on March 5, 1953. On June 26, 1954, Lee married Donna Hoagland in Klickitat, Washington, where the couple made their home and raised their family.

Mr. Gilliam worked at the lumber mill in Klickitat at the box factory and as a grader before retiring in 1993.

He was a member of the Klickitat Valley Baptist Church. Lee enjoyed hunting, working in his vegetable garden and restoring his '33 Ford pick-up. He loved camping with his family and just spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife Donna Gilliam of Klickitat; son David Gilliam and his wife Janet of Goldendale; son Robert Gilliam and his wife Gail of Kennewick; daughter Sandra Bakke and her husband Rudi of White Salmon; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Lily, brothers Van and Nick, sister Pat and a grandson Nick Gilliam.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Klickitat Valley Baptist Church in Klickitat, Washington. Please send condolences to the Gilliam family by visiting
