Frieda Sheridan

Frieda Sheridan

Frieda was born to Henry and Gertrude Ladiges on the 24th of June 1919 in Glenwood, Washington. She died March 7, 2015 with her family at her side, in her home of 65 years.

She loved playing sports and in high school she lettered in baseball but was told she could not play basketball so she picked up her books and went home to work on the family farm. She never went back to school

In 1941 she moved to Portland, living with her sister, and found work at the Cooperage (making wooden barrels) where she met a young Marine Kenny Sheridan when he returned from WWII. They were married December 3, 1946, honeymooned at Cannon Beach over the weekend then back to work.

They moved back to Glenwood two years after and bought their farm. There they raised three daughters, Hereford cattle and a big garden.

She is survived by her daughters Joann Hutton, Barbara Warren and Dannet Wheelhouse; grandchildren Tonia Warren, Kenneth Warren, Chelsy Simerson, and Mitch Wheelhouse; and great grandchildren Cody and Crysta Warren, and Conner and Derek Simerson. She was preceded in death by her siblings; husband Kenny and grandson William Hutton.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14 at the Glenwood School. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Glenwood Firefighters and E.M.T.s. Please send condolences to the Sheridan family by visiting
