Stevenson wins pair of double-headers against LWK, including pair of one-hitters

FIELD UPGRADE: Lyle-Wishram-Klickitat's baseball team will play on a field that underwent some recent improvements. Sod was removed from the basepaths and the backstop was brought several feet closer to home plate, cutting down the notoriously vast area behind the catcher. Assistant coach Doug Carlock works with the team during batting practice.

It is always nice to put the opening games behind you, and in the case of Lyle-Wishram-Klickitat, behind them is where they want to keep them. Stevenson hosted the baseball and softball teams in the season openers for both teams and came away with a sweep of all four games in stunning fashion.

The Bulldogs fought off the Cougars in the first game to win 16-6 in six innings. The LWK bats had a little pop in them in the opener with doubles by Zach Miller and Riley Mills. Both batters had a pair of hits in the game. Mills, Ricky Weddle and Brendon Stuart were credited with RBIs in a game where the Bulldogs got by in spite of four errors. Miller pitched just two-thirds of an inning with Mills...
