FORMIDABLE: Rachel Disch brings home the baton for an easy win in the 4x100 meter relay at The Dalles, last week. The team consists of fast, young legs with sophomores Disch and Bryan and freshmen Allison Gilliam and Abby Mains.

One thing stands out with this year's Goldendale girls' track and field team, they are young and they are fast. The 4x100 relay team consisting of Ocean Bryan, Rachel Disch, Allison Gilliam and Abby Mains blew away the competition at The Dalles Wahtonka, the only team with a sub-one-minute race, finishing in 54.63. The time is more than a second off the best time for Goldendale girls, but it is early in the season and the team looks hard to beat. Bryan and Disch are the older girls, but they are just sophomores. They started and finished last week's race.
