Christensen leading the way in singles for Wolves

FIGURING IT OUT: Jairus Christensen, a Goldendale junior on a very young Timberwolf team has been a team leader and consistent winner for this year's tennis team.

Jairus Christensen posted a couple of singles wins last week for Goldendale, as the Timberwolves took on three opponents, two in the SCAC. The boys managed a 3-1 win over White Swan on Thursday after falling by a 3-1 score to La Salle on Tuesday and another 3-1 loss to Granger on Friday. Christensen lost 6-2, 6-0 to the Lightning's Sean Sinco, but finished the week strong with a pair of 6-1 victories over White Swan's Jose Suarez and a hard-fought 6-3, 6-3 win over Brady Williams in Granger.

Goldendale's boys' doubles also won matches against White Swan. Ignacio Cano and Spencer Ricks won 6-2, 6-4. Tim Hanna and Brian Ward had to work a little harder for their win over the Cougars, eking...
