Bazzels injured in car crash, father now reported in stable condition

Goldendale resident and firefighter Ronald Bazzel Jr. and his seven-year-old daughter Crystal were driving westbound on SR 14 Thursday morning when their Kia Optima hit a deer, spinning the vehicle off the road and into a rock and gravel embankment. Bazzel was taken by Life Flight to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital; his daughter was taken to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles.

The Sentinel has been informed that Bazzel is now in stable condition. As of press time, there was no word on the condition of his daughter.
