Michael James Copenhefer, age 68, longtime Bickleton, WA. resident and beloved husband, father and grandfather died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at his home near Bickleton due to complications of a bee sting.

Mike Copenhefer was born August 6, 1946 at Toppenish, WA. the son of Martin and Wilma (Donoho) Copenhefer. He spent his early years and received his education in Bickleton having graduated from the Bickleton High School with the Class of 1964. Following his education he entered the United States Air Force serving in Viet Nam. Following his military service he attended and received his associate's degree from Yakima Valley Community College, Yakima, WA. He was employed for 2 years for the Washington State Patrol as a Communications Officer. He then joined the Lewis County Sheriff's Department. He served as a Sergeant for the Lewis County Sheriff's Department and retired after 23 years. Following his retirement he returned to the Donoho – Copenhefer family farm near Bickleton, WA where he made his home until the time of his death. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Roberta Copenhefer of Bickleton, WA. 2 sons Michael Copenhefer and wife Sherri of Chehalis, WA and Timothy Copenhefer and wife Breanne of Las Vegas, NV. 3 grandchildren Blaine Copenhefer, Elliott Mays and Kalea Copenhefer, one sister Staci Storms of Port Saint Lucy, FL and 2 nephews. He is also survived by and know as "Papa Mike" to many. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Wilma Copenhefer.

A Celebration of Life service for Mike Copenhefer will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Cleveland Park and Rodeo Grounds, 4 miles west of Bickleton, WA. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Glade Fire Department, Bickleton, WA.
