Atchley beyond 19 feet at Hood River, moves to sixth on 1B performance list

JUST WARMING UP: An injury slowed the start to Greg Dechand's pole vaulting season. The Glenwood senior cleared 10-feet, 6-inches in his first outing at the Cherry Blossom Invitational in Hood River, Friday. Dechand's PR is 11-6, which he set and cleared three times in 2013 and twice last year, including at the Jeff Agar Memorial meet on his home pit in Glenwood. The meet is May 1, this year. Dechand has two meets before then to warm up for perhaps a new PR.

Klickitat had a nearly full roster of track and field athletes at their meets in Hood River and Stevenson this weekend setting a number of personal records.

Klickitat's Easton Atchley jumped 19-feet, 1-inch in the long jump at the Apple Blossom Invite in Hood River. The freshman got close to the 19 foot mark last week at Moro. His jump is the sixth best in 1B division so far this year. He was also ninth in the high jump at 5-feet.

Bailee Green ran a PR 57.28 in the 300 meter hurdles, was seventh in the 100 meter hurdles and was 11th in the javelin at 80-4 at Hood River. Green was sixth in the long jump and 100 hurdles at the Al McKee invitational at Stevenson and placed eighth in the jave...
